Academics at Prosper Junior School

"Sow seeds of a full life""

Prosper Junior School – Kyengera started in June 2019 as a private educational institution offering Daycare, Kindergarten, and Primary sections. The school enrolls children from Daycare to Primary Seven and is founded on the belief that every child deserves access to quality, affordable, and holistic education.

Early Childhood Development (Daycare & Kindergarten)

Our Early Childhood section provides a strong foundation for lifelong learning. We focus on early literacy, numeracy, communication, and creative expression through play-based learning.

Children in Daycare and Kindergarten are introduced to basic academic concepts in a warm, caring, and stimulating environment where curiosity and confidence thrive.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Language and communication skills
  • Number concepts and counting
  • Creative arts, music, and rhythm
  • Physical play and coordination
  • Social interaction and behavior development

Primary Section (P.1 – P.7)

The Primary Section follows the Uganda National Primary School Curriculum, enriched with modern teaching techniques and continuous assessment to prepare learners for national examinations and future academic challenges.

Our dedicated and highly trained teachers ensure that each learner masters literacy, numeracy, science, and social studies while also developing problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Academic Priorities:

  1. Mastery of reading, writing, and mathematics
  2. Science and environmental studies
  3. Religious and moral education
  4. Computer and digital literacy
  5. Co-curricular enrichment

Co-curricular Activities

Education at Prosper Junior School goes beyond the classroom. We believe in learning by doing, where every child’s talent and creativity are discovered and developed through engaging activities.

Activities Include:

  1. Swimming – Physical fitness and fun
  2. Piano Lessons – Building rhythm and musical talent
  3. Pottery & Ceramics – Creativity and hand skills
  4. Weaving & Gardening – Practical life skills and teamwork

These programs help children grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually — nurturing a sense of responsibility, cooperation, and confidence.

Teacher’s Role and Profile

Our teachers are passionate, creative, and well-trained to handle learners at every stage. They act as mentors, guides, and facilitators of learning — shaping pupils to be independent thinkers and achievers.

They are:

  1. Skilled in modern teaching methods
  2. Motivators and mentors
  3. Result-oriented and innovative
  4. Committed to holistic child development

Academic Support & Evaluation

Continuous assessment is a key part of our academic structure. Pupils are evaluated through:

  1. Classwork and assignments
  2. Mid-term and end-of-term exams
  3. Practical and oral assessments
  4. Teacher-parent communication sessions

This ensures that every learner’s progress is closely monitored and supported throughout the academic year.
